Supercuts prices UK in 2026, what changed and what a cut costs

US Supercuts prices don’t apply in the UK. Supercuts UK lists a dry haircut from £26 and its full “Supercut” (wash, cut and blow dry) from £39.50, per its styling menu.

Most of this site is about the American chain. Supercuts, the walk-in hair salon chain owned by Regis Corporation, started in Albany, California in 1975.
The British salons share the name and the logo. Their ownership, their menu and their money all run separately, and that’s been true since 2017.
What happened to Supercuts in the UK?
Short version: Regis sold the UK salons, the new owner’s UK arm collapsed, and a smaller group of salons survived under a new operator. Here’s the order it happened in.
2017, Regis sells its UK salons
On October 2, 2017, Regis said it would sell substantially all of its International segment to The Beautiful Group, an affiliate of its largest franchisee, Regent.
That deal covered about 250 Regis Salons and Supercuts locations in the UK. Regis said it closed on October 23, 2017, per its SEC filing.
The UK salons then ran as a franchise. Regis still owned the brand names, but it no longer ran the salons or set their prices.
2019, Regis UK goes into administration
On October 24, 2019, Regis UK called in Deloitte as administrators. The business had 220 salons and about 1,200 staff, according to City A.M.
The trigger was a fight with landlords. British Land and Hammerson challenged a CVA that asked for rent cuts of up to 100% at some sites.
Managing director Jackie Lang told Hairdressers Journal that legal fees over the challenge had passed £1 million.
December 2019, the rescue
In December 2019, Bushell Investment Group, a family office led by Lee Bushell, took on the salons it wanted as a Regis franchisee.
Reports differ on the count. FashionNetwork said 140 salons were saved and about 60 would close.
The trade title Beauty and Hairdressing said “over 100” Supercuts and Regis salons, with the rest of the UK estate expected to close.
Supercuts UK today
The current Supercuts UK site says it has 80+ UK salons and offers franchises. It doesn’t name the company behind it on that page.

One odd thing. The same site’s About page says haircuts start “from £20.95,” which is lower than the £26 on the menu page. We can’t tell which is newer.
That page also lists 10% discounts for students, for OAPs aged 70 and over, and for first visits. Ask at your salon, since terms can differ.

The biggest trap is the word “Supercut.” In the UK it’s the full wash, cut and blow dry. In the US it’s the basic cut, and a wash costs extra.
