Quick answer
Most Supercuts salons don’t take fixed appointments for haircuts. You use online check-in in the Supercuts app or website to hold a same-day spot in line.
Color and special occasion styles are the exception. For those, call the salon and book a time with a stylist who does color.

Independent site. We aren’t part of Supercuts or Regis Corporation. Check-in happens only on the official supercuts.com site or app.
The app store listing says “Book Online at Nearby Salon.” That wording trips people up, because what you book is a place in today’s queue.
Supercuts, the walk-in hair salon chain owned by Regis Corporation, started in Albany, California in 1975 as a walk-in salon. Online check-in is the digital version of that line.
Supercuts appointment or online check-in, what’s the difference?
An appointment is a fixed time on a stylist’s calendar, days ahead. A Supercuts online check-in is same-day, and your “time” moves if the people ahead run long.
| Question | Online check-in | Phone booking |
|---|---|---|
| Used for | Haircuts, beard trims, basic add-ons | Color, highlights, updos |
| How far ahead? | Same day only | Days ahead, set by the salon |
| Is the time exact? | No, it’s an estimate | Yes, a set slot |
| Can you pick a stylist? | Yes, at many salons | Yes |
| Price difference | None | None |
We think check-in is the better system for a $22 to $30 cut. You don’t lose a slot you booked a week ago because of a flat tire.
What the Supercuts app does
The free app is called Supercuts Hair Salon Check-in on iPhone. It had a 4.7 rating from about 84,000 ratings in September 2026.
On Android it’s on Google Play with over 1 million downloads. Both versions were last updated on June 16, 2026.
Per those listings, the app shows current wait times, gives directions, sends check-in reminders and tracks Supercuts Rewards points.
The family feature is the one we’d use most. You can save several guests to one profile and check in a parent and two kids together.
How to book a Supercuts appointment online
This takes about two minutes. The steps are the same in the app and on supercuts.com, though the buttons sit in slightly different places.
- Open the Supercuts app or supercuts.com. Sign in or create an account so your Rewards points and guest list are saved.
- Choose a salon. Allow location access or enter your ZIP code, then compare the wait times shown for nearby salons.
- Pick your service. Select the haircut and any add-ons, such as a shampoo or beard trim.
- Choose a stylist or the first available. Picking a stylist can mean a longer wait if that person is busy.
- Pick a time and add guests. Choose from the same-day times offered and add any saved family members.
- Confirm and watch for reminders. Leave with enough time to arrive a few minutes before your estimated time.
- Tell the front desk you checked in online. Give your name so the stylist knows you’re there.
Our main Supercuts price guide lists what each service costs, so you know the total before you tap confirm.
Checking in from Google Maps
Search “Supercuts” in Google Maps and open a salon’s listing. Many listings show a check-in or booking button that sends you to the Supercuts check-in page.
We saw this button on some listings and not on others in September 2026. If it’s missing, use the website link on the listing instead.
Can you request a specific stylist?
Yes, at many salons. The app has a stylist step, and the Google Play listing mentions choosing “your go-to stylist.”
Only stylists working that day appear. If yours isn’t listed, they’re likely off, so call the salon and ask when they’re next in.
Here’s a small thing regulars learn. Stylists often work fixed days, like Tuesday through Saturday, so ask once and plan around it.
Booking hair color by phone
Color takes 45 minutes to 2 hours at Supercuts, and not every shift has a colorist. That’s why most salons want a call for it.
When you call, say the service, your hair length and whether your hair is already colored. A root touch-up at about $35 to $55 needs less time than full highlights.
Our Supercuts hair color prices page has the price and chair time for each color service.
What if you’re late or need to cancel?
Cancel in the app if you can’t make it. It frees your place for the next person. We haven’t seen a fee for a canceled haircut check-in, but ask about color bookings.
If you’re late, the salon may move you back in line rather than drop you. How long they’ll hold your place varies, so call if you’re running over 10 minutes.
| Issue | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No check-in button for your salon | Salon closed, full or near closing | Try another salon or call |
| Can’t pick a future day | Check-in is same-day only | Check in on the day, or call for color |
| Wait was longer than shown | Earlier services ran long | Watch the app before you leave home |
| Your stylist isn’t listed | Not working that day | Choose first available or ask the salon |
| Name wasn’t on the list | Check-in didn’t go through | Look for the confirmation, show it at the desk |
Arriving right before close is the one mistake we’d warn against. Our Supercuts walk-in and wait time guide explains last check-in times.
Supercuts appointment FAQs
Can I check in for tomorrow on the Supercuts app?
No. The app listings describe same-day check-in only. For a future date, call the salon, which may book color or styling ahead.
Can I check in without making an account?
Some salons allow a guest check-in with a name and phone number. An account is faster next time and saves your Rewards points.
Does online check-in cost extra at Supercuts?
No. Online check-in is free, and you pay the same menu price as a walk-in, about $22 to $30 for an adult cut.
Can I check in two kids and myself at once?
Yes. The app lets you save family members to one profile and check in multiple guests in the same visit.
Why does the app say my salon isn’t taking check-ins?
It’s usually close to closing time, fully booked or closed that day. Try a salon a few miles away or call the one you wanted.
